September 2011
Brenda Wheeler was a guest for the evening along with 25 members. The program for the meeting was to be our district director, Becky Hawkins, but she was unable to attend due to a death in the family. Reporting for the district was the assistant director, Donna Astin. Information about the fall conference to be held in Columbus on Oct. 14-16 was discussed. All members were encouraged to attend and learn more about the state programs offered by the INFBPW.
Any member may donate each month top an organization designated as the Working Women Make a Difference Project. This month Habitat for Humanity was presented with items that are needed in each house built by the group. The October WWMD Project will be items that are to be sent to our servicemen and women overseas. A list of needed items was handed out to the members.
The business portion was opened by President Pat Barker. Reports from the secretary and treasurer were read and approved. All other committees reported as needed. A fund raiser is now in progress with members selling spring bulbs.
Suanne Milligan announced that the October meeting will be our annual auction with the proceeds going to the state foundation for scholarships. Each member is requested to bring one baked good and one craft item.
Diane Gould will be hosting a booth at the ladies night out at the 4-H grounds, benefiting Faith Alliance and breast cancer. This will be a membership drive for our local INFBPW as well. Information will be available to anyone interested in attending a meeting or joining our organization.
After all old and new business was completed, brags and complaints were heard. The meeting was adjourned by repeating the Club Collect. Oct. 4 will be the next meeting
